Dear Colleague and Friend,
I am pleased and proud to have the honor of serving as Chair of Judicial Candidate Olga Levine’s campaign committee. In August 2011, Olga filed for County Court Judge, Group 5, in the anticipated retirement of the sitting judge and resulting open seat.
Olga has been a resident of Broward County for over forty years. She attended the University of Florida for both her undergraduate and law school degree, and ultimately graduated in 1988. In her 23 years of practice, Olga has worked in both the public and private sectors representing the most defenseless in our society - children and vulnerable adults. She has handled civil litigation and criminal trial work, as well as, guardianship and adult protective services matters. Olga has extensive courtroom and trial experience.
Olga currently has returned to the public sector as an Assistant Public Defender leaving private practice at the request of the Broward Public Defender. Her decision to return to public service stemmed from her commitment and passion in representing the often-voiceless children and adults who live with mental health issues or intellectual disabilities.
The Sun Sentinel has stated that Olga Levine “…has an impressive background in community service” and “…would serve the bench well.”
The Miami Herald has written, “Ms. Levine has a tough job. She defends mentally ill youth…” and “...is a credible candidate.”
Olga's dedication to children is clearly reflected in her civic organizational involvement. Olga currently presides as Treasurer of the Advisory Board of Broward County Regional Juvenile Detention Center and has served as its past Chairperson. She is also a foundation board member of the Broward Children’s Center (an organization well known for its service to the needs of medically fragile children). Olga also sits on the board the Soref Jewish Community Center.
Olga’s professionalism, unblemished reputation and extensive courtroom experience is exactly what the people of Broward County need and should expect from a County Court Judge.
